My dream continues. SUM OF WHICH continues to amaze me. Last month I ran a KickStarter Campaign to raise the funds to move forard with the production of the remaining expansion packs, development of the app, and payment for the non-provisional patent. I am pleased to announce that this campaign was a success! I was thrilled that the monies were raised and even more excited when I started the shipping process. Forty-five junior games, seventy-three senior games, thirty expansion packs, and one-hundred eighteen SMART Notebook versions were shipped to Finland, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA! I am beyond excited and cannot wait to hear feedback from those who will soon be playing SUM OF WHICH. Many games have already been shipped, only a few left to go.
As autumn rolls in, I am planning ahead to some exciting venues. The North Country Showcase in the Massena Mall will be hosting a SUM OF WHICH Tournament on Saturday, September 23rd. I will teach the game play at 11:30 and the tournament starts at noon. The game is truly very easy to learn so don't be concerned, come join me if you are near Massena, NY. Join in on the fun and a chance at $50.
The Teachers' Learning Center at SUNY Potsdam will be hosting a full day PD with SUM OF WHICH on October 2nd. We will play SUM OF WHICH is TEN, TWENTY, 100, ONE (Fractions), and the INTEGER version. We will also play SO YOU THINK YOU CAN ADD, ODDS or EVENS, and IT's IMPOSSIBLE. If you are teacher in St. Lawrence County, come join me for a day of fun tied to the Standards for Mathematical Practices. All participants will leave with their own copy of SUM OF WHICH to use in the classroom. Check it out on My Learning Plan.
October 9th brings the NYS Teacher's Summit at SUNY Potsdam. I will present a session on SUM OF WHICH and will have the games available for purchase. October 26th- 27th, I return to SUNY Potsdam for the Literacy Conference. SUM OF WHICH and the sister games will be shared and the connections to literacy will be made. I will present a session on the 27th and will have the games available for purchase. These are two events that I would encourage teachers to look into if you haven't already registered.
On November 3-4, I will be in Buffalo, NY at the AMTNYS annual conference. I have attended this conference for more than 20 years, but this will be the first time I am attending as a vendor. I am excited to be able to share SUM OF WHICH with teachers throughout NYS. I will be presenting on Saturday morning, November 4th at 8am. Otherwise, you will find me in the vendor area, set up and ready to teach you how to play. If you attend AMTNYS, please come see me.
November 18th, the Christmas shopping begins. The Annual Christmas Show at the Kennedy School in Ogdensburg NY will showcase more than 1000 crafters and creators. Come see me at "Booth # 2" and check out SUM OF WHICH. It's sure to be a hot item under the tree this Christmas.
If you can't make it to any of the above mentioned events, no worries. Check out the videos on this site and you can also purchase from this page. I will be certain to give your order the personal attention it deserves.
As always, I am extremely grateful for all that has happened with SUM OF WHICH. This game has brought me to many wonderful places and I have met so many amazing people as a result. Thank you to all who have moved this game to where it is today. I look forward to continuing to grow and share this
I have been an educator for more than 20 years. I firmly believe that students must UNDERSTAND, not memorize.
